MyOrthoDoc:
Steve A. Mora, M.D.
Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon |
 |
Dr. Mora is a native of Orange County.
He graduated from Anaheim High School and then completed his pre-med
studies from Cal State Fullerton University. Dr. Mora's long-term
goal was to establish an Orthopaedic surgery practice close to his roots
in Orange County. His vision of becoming an Orthopaedic Surgeon was
borne out of his own personal experience as a young patient requiring
numerous orthopaedic surgeries. These experiences were highly
influential in his decision to pursue medicine and further provided the
inspiration to pursue excellence throughout his training. He firmly
believes that these past experiences now allow him to empathize and bond
with his patients in a very unique way.
Dr. Mora completed his medical school training at the University of California
Irvine (UCI) where he finished in the top of his class
with AOA Medical Society honors. He completed his Orthopaedic
Surgery training at the University of Southern California (USC/LAC)
Medical Center where he received numerous awards for clinical
excellence. The USC Orthopaedic surgery residency is internationally
recognized for its excellence in the surgical training of complex
fractures and high energy trauma. He has served as a USC volunteer
clinical staff member. He rounded off his surgical training
and refined his surgical skills with a Sports Medicine, Shoulder, Knee and
Cartilage Resurfacing Fellowship at the Santa Monica Orthopaedic
Surgery and Sports Medicine Group with Bert Mandelbaum, MD and Thomas
Knapp, MD. During his Fellowship
he assisted in the Orthopaedic care of professional U.S. Soccer athletes, Pepperdine
University athletes, and Santa Monica College student athletes. Dr. Mora
is currently the team doctor for Foothill High School.
Testament to Dr. Mora's commitment to his
patients in 2004 he received the CARE award from St. Joseph Hospital and
in 2007 the Orange County Medical Association named him a "Physician of
Excellence".
Dr. Mora's family heritage is Peruvian.
He is fluent in Spanish.

A MESSAGE FROM DR. MORA: My
Approach to Treating Patients:
"I hope to create a
close patient-doctor relationship based on trust and mutual
respect. I believe my patients' medical treatment begins with
their complete understanding of their condition. I
believe that a patient can never be given too much accurate and
useful information. With this in mind, I make every effort to
first and foremost- listen to my patient. Then I spend the time
necessary to educate them on every detail of the treatment plan.
Lastly I am dedicated towards maintaining my Orthopaedic Knowledge
and expertise as cutting edge as possible". |
